BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Business Administration major has a broad program, allowing graduates to be multitasking employees who could aspire to management positions in various areas of Business, including General, Marketing, Finance, & Information Technology. The student may choose one of several concentrations during the last two years of study, through Cape Breton University. The Bachelor of Business Administration is intended to prepare successful candidates for successful careers in private and public enterprises, co-operatives, government service, or self-employment and for graduate study.
Concentrations:
Finance is a major that prepares you to be a financial manager, teach you how to allocate your money, you will learn about the different types of securities and the stock exchange, how to calculate risks and helps you take major decisions in big and long term investments.
Marketing is the art and the science of creating and adding value to products. The major teaches you what is branding. More formally, it is the study of consumer's psychology and how to determine consumer needs and translate those needs into products and services and selling them locally, nationally, and globally. Either way, Marketing is a practical, career-oriented, and solidly pre-professional major that requires analytical skills, logic and creativity.
General If you’re majoring in General, you’ll be covering broadly all three majors (Economics, Finance, and Marketing) from a general perspective. Because the range of interests among majors is quite broad, students are encouraged to work with a departmental advisor to discuss a plan of studies that fits their individual needs.
