The World is Quitting Smoking for 24 Hours, Here is Why!

The 31st of May, is observed every year around the world as World Tobacco Day.

Can you go 24 hours tobacco-free?

Here is Why You Should:

The focus of the day this year as posted and announced by WHO is “tobacco and lung health”. No Tobacco Day not only aims to raise awareness about the disastrous effect tobacco has on the lungs and the general health of the body, but also, aims to entice and inspire the world to live tobacco free for 24 hours.

We certainly encourage everyone who reads this post to share and help raise awareness against tobacco in all its forms. We, here at CIC, have 2 campuses tobacco-free. Since our very beginning in 2004, we prohibited smoking on campus. We started this initiative in an attempt to keep our students healthy at least for those hours they spend at CIC and in an attempt to keep our environment clean. Know more about the history of CIC

You can learn more about the day as posted by World Health Organization WHO here.

Most importantly, every one of us should be an advocate to the day. Be proactive and effective in your community and promote your health, your family’s and friends’.

Make Everyday No Tobacco Day.

Touchdown in Cairo ??? In November last year @raniaalmashat Tourism Minister for Egypt and I sat down in London to talk about the power of economic development through tourism. She shared her views on connecting people, celebrating culture and the number of undiscovered parts of her country that were waiting to be shared with the world. We agreed a partnership between @beautifuldestinations & @experienceegypt to bring this to life, to empower Egyptian people and inspire tourists to come to the country ? The next few days I’ll be sharing my experience and #beautifuldestinations teams will be travelling the country to start meeting people and creating content. Any Egyptian friends please get in touch or anyone that has been and has recommendations or ideas, we’d love to hear from you. My Arabic is very basic but the one phrase I remember that captures how excited we feel about partnering with Egypt is…. Yalla Bina! (?: @seifamro)

It begins…..??? This morning we took our horses, a few camels and a small team of Egyptian friends to watch the sunrise over the Great Pyramids of Giza. Since yesterday I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support, hospitality and ideas from Egyptians all over the world getting behind @raniaalmashat @experienceegypt and all the people working to encourage travel to Egypt. It is SO inspiring for me to see the response and to know that through tourism we can create life changing experiences for people, encourage cultural understanding and help generate economic development for countries ? The best way to broaden your horizons is to travel, embrace new people and have an open mind to all the possibilities that exist around the world and in the short time I’ve been in Egypt, I’ve done exactly that ? 4 Great Gains You Need To Know About Traveling

You get to know yourself more when you throw yourself out there in a new environment and deal with everything differently and find yourself opening up for new experiences, people, and opportunities. “Travel far enough, you meet yourself” – Cloud Atlas

Meeting awesome people!

Meeting new people can be very interesting and that your actual friends will get tired of hearing about it. (They’ll possibly be jealous). Making friends with people from different backgrounds, vast cultures and societies provide you with the kind of education that you won’t be able to get from school, college or university.

Gaining impressive Skills!

You become more confident and sociable. You improve your communication skills as you learn about new things and gain new interests. Oh! And it’ll also look good on your CV as well.

Being fully independent!

It’s not easy to be independent. Being put in the position of being on your own gives you real-life education and lets you grow and experience how it’s like to have responsibilities.

Exploring heart-wrenching places!

You spare some time to wander and take your mind off of things and who knows how many sightly, beautiful places and things you can come across.
Your overall experience of traveling should be hearty and fulfilling. Every new place you go you learn something new and different. Get out there and find out what’s waiting for you!
